This 7-Day Uganda Gorillas and Masai Mara Safari takes you through two incredible East African countries — Uganda and Kenya. You will trek through the forest to see endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, then fly to Kenya for exciting game drives in the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. In just one week, you get to enjoy three of Africa’s greatest wildlife experiences: gorilla trekking, the Great Wildebeest Migration, and spotting the African Big Five.
Your safari begins early. Your driver guide will pick you up at around 5:30am and start the long drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwest of Uganda. The drive takes about 8 to 9 hours, but the journey is beautiful. You will pass through towns, green hills, and open countryside that show you why Uganda is called the Pearl of Africa. Lunch is served along the way. You will arrive at Bwindi in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and relax for the evening.

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing with your ranger guide. You will learn all the rules and important information before you enter the forest. Then you and your group will set off into the jungle to search for a habituated gorilla family.
The trek can be tough — the forest is thick, the paths are steep, and it may take a few hours to find the gorillas. But when you do, every step will be worth it. You will spend a full hour watching the gorillas up close as they eat, play, groom each other, and care for their young ones. You can take photos and simply enjoy one of the most powerful wildlife moments on earth.
After returning from the trek, you can rest at the lodge or join an optional community visit to meet local people, learn about their way of life, and enjoy traditional cultural performances.

The road to the Mara is scenic and interesting. You will pass through the dramatic Great Rift Valley, where you can stop briefly to take photos and browse local craft shops. There is also a short stop in Narok Town to freshen up before continuing to the reserve.
You will arrive at the lodge in the afternoon. After checking in and settling down, you will head out for a short introductory game drive to get your first taste of the Masai Mara. Expect to see wildlife as soon as you enter the reserve. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will also look out for giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, and a wide variety of birds.
Your guide will take you to the best spots in the park throughout the day. At midday, you will stop at a safe, scenic spot for a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
