You arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon to rest and settle in.

Day 2
Gorilla Trekking and Village Visit

Today is the highlight of your Uganda experience. Wake up early, have breakfast, and head to the park office for a briefing. Rangers explain the rules and assign you to a gorilla family group. Then the trek begins. You walk through thick forest, crossing streams and climbing hills. It is not easy, but when you finally find the gorillas — playing, feeding, and caring for their young — every step is worth it. You get one full hour with them. Take photos and enjoy the moment.

After the trek, you return to the lodge to rest. If you wish, visit a nearby Batwa community to learn about their way of life and watch traditional dances.

The crater floor is home to an incredible number of animals living together in a natural bowl surrounded by steep walls. You may spot lions, black rhinos, elephants, buffalo, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, and huge herds of wildebeest. Flamingos gather in pink flocks along Lake Magadi in the south.
