Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a morning briefing. A packed lunch and water will be provided. Feel free to share any special requests with your guide so the park rangers can assist you.
We strongly encourage you to hire a local porter. Porters carry your bags and help you along the trail. Hiring one supports the local community directly.
Gorilla trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours — it all depends on where the gorillas are that day. A good level of fitness is helpful. Once you find the gorilla family, you will spend one hour with them. This rule protects both the gorillas and the visitors. A ranger will guide you on how to behave calmly and safely around them.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and relax at your lodge after an incredible day.
